There’s nothing better than photographing weddings in a location that is deeply personal to a bride and groom. We have been fortunate to have photographed a romantic, rustic YMCA camp nestled in the woods of Medford, New Jersey twice now. Once at the boys camp, Camp Ockanickon, and this season, it was time to visit the girls side, Camp Matollionequay.
Bride Jessica grew up spending her summers at Camp Matollionequay, and the back woods of her family’s home leads right to the camp. When Jessica and Evan began looking for the perfect location to begin their family, the camp was the perfect choice. One of the camps bridges which held special memories for the couple was the perfect spot for one of the most beautifully light filled first looks that we’ve ever photographed, followed by a charming wedding in the camp’s chapel, fall decor lovingly done by mom with loads of chrysanthemums, candles, a fireplace, and of course, their adorable dog in attendance. Gina Corso and her violin provided the perfect soundtrack for the intimate event.
After the ceremony, and as we worked our way through family formals, we began to notice a few of the important men from Jessica’s life missing. ‘Cause what would a camp wedding be, without a few of the guys grabbing some fishing poles and sneaking out to the lake? Absolutely perfect.
