Race Street Pier Engagement Shoot

Race Street Pier Engagement Shoot

There’s nothing quite like a Race Street Pier Engagement shoot.  Laura and Tim love everything about Philadelphia, and planned their engagement shoot in two of my favorite spots. We started at Elfreth’s Alley in Old City, the oldest residential street in the country. We had a unseasonably warm day, and they had to stop on the way to Philly to pick up some warmer weather clothes. These two are so natural with each other and in front of the camera, they are a delight to photograph. After Elfreth’s Alley, we took a quick walk to Race Street Pier.  We have photographed the pier with models and engagement shoots, Masterchef winners and weddings. We’ve photographed it in the harshest sunlight and the most torrential rainy day downpours.  I love the architecture of the pier, the colors and the shapes.  Laura’s choice to wear a pretty blue shirt was absolutely perfect with the blues of the bridge and the water.  I just photographed the wedding of this really special couple. I can’t wait to share the images!

Pro Tip!

Race Street Pier does require a permit for photography.  You most likely will be left alone if it’s only an engagement shoot, but if you’re planning a stop there on your wedding day, I highly suggest getting a permit. They don’t always ask for them, but do you really want to risk it when you have a timeline and guests to get back to? Don’t wait until the last minute, they don’t always get approved quickly.
